Pimples or acne are skin lesions/inflammations that occur when the sebaceous glands (oil glands) of the skin get infected with bacteria and swell up. Pimples are also known as pustules or papules, spots, and zits. The sebaceous glands that are present throughout the skin, except in the palms and soles, secrete a waxy or oily substance called sebum. Causes of Pimples or ACNE

Inside the pore are sebaceous glands which produce sebum. When the outer layers of skin shed (as they do continuously), the dead skin cells left behind may become ‘glued’ together by the sebum. This causes a blockage in the pore, especially when the skin becomes thicker at puberty. The sebaceous glands produce more sebum which builds up behind the blockage, and this sebum harbors various bacteria including the species Propionibacterium acnes, causing infection and inflammation.

Home Remedies for Pimples or ACNE

1. Aloe Vera â€“ Apply Aloe Vera juice on your breakouts which can increase the recovering speed of your acne its properties naturally reduce swelling and redness of acne.

2. Cucumber â€“ Try applying grated cucumber over the face and neck for the treatment of pimples and blackheads. This process should only take 15-20 minutes of your time.

3. Egg-White â€“ Apply the mashed egg-white over the face as a facial mask and wash it after 20 minutes with lukewarm water. But, be sure that your skin is not allergic to eggs.

4. Honey â€“ Honey has both antiseptic as well as moisturizing properties and thus when honey is applied on the affected skin for half an hour it makes the ache disappear within a few days.

5. Ice â€“ Take the ice and wrap it in a piece of cloth and then apply it on the affected skin area for a few seconds. It helps in reducing the inflammation or swelling and will immediately soothe your skin.

6. Lemon â€“ Apply a fresh lemon juice to a pimple to reduce is size and intensity. Wash it off with water after 30 minutes. Use this home remedy only if your skin is not sensitive.

7. Oatmeal â€“ Oatmeal to eat? Neah.. Well, Cook some oatmeal and apply it, When it’s cool enough, to the face. Lay down and leave it on far about fifteen minutes and when to wash it off. This oatmeal mask is soothing, effective, and not irritating.

8. Orange Peel â€“ After orange peels are pounded and combined with water to paste, apply it only to the affected area and watch the result.

9. Toothpaste – Take a small amount of toothpaste and apply it on acne before going to bed. The toothpaste will reduce the swelling and dry out the acne.

10. Vinegar â€“ Vinegar helps to get rid of excessive oils from your skin as well as to kill the bacteria that cause acne. It is best to use apple vinegar, it is milder, but generally, any vinegar would do. Dilute 1 spoon of vinegar in 8 spoons of water and wash your face with this cleanser.
